At Southern Hills we employ individuals in the following types of positions:
Mental Health Technicians
Mental Health Technicians are individuals who have a High School Diploma. Must possess valid driver's license and meet requirements to obtain a Public Passenger Chauffeur’s License as required. Mental Health Technicians monitor client activities and perform administrative tasks in the residential setting with adult residents. These positions are full or part time and include being available every other weekend.
Behavioral Health Technician
Behavioral Health Technicians are individuals who have an Associate Degree and/or 2 years behavioral health experience, valid driver’s license, available transportation, and “people” skills. The Behavioral Health Technicians work directly with clients to teach skills of daily living. We employ staff to work either:
- Full time (40 hrs/week) Residential working days, evenings or nights, five days/week including every other weekend; or Program based working days only Monday through Friday.
- Part time (up to 29 hrs/week) Residential working days, evenings or nights, five days/week including every other weekend.
Client Representatives are individuals who have a Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or directly related human service field. Client representatives provide educational and skill-development activities to a variety of clients in both individual and group settings. Client representatives are usually full time positions and are located at all Southern Hills Clinic locations.
The LPN/RN requires Indiana State Licensure as an RN or LPN, a valid driver's license, and available transportation. The LPN/RN provides a broad range of client services including medication management, case management, training on independent living skills and social skills training. These positions are usually full time positions and are located at the Jasper, Paoli or Tell City Clinics.
Staff Therapists are individuals who have State Licensure as an LSW or an LCSW and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Staff Therapists provide counseling services to children and/or adults. Therapists work in a clinical setting providing professional clinical services (including substance abuse treatment), as well as a range of community consultation and education services. Staff Therapists routinely work Monday through Friday, (40 hrs./week), 8 - 12 hr days with on-call requirements. They are employed at all Southern Hills Clinic locations.
The Staff Psychiatrists are individuals who have State Licensure as a Medical Doctor with a Psychiatry Specialty. The individual in this position provides outpatient psychiatric services in a community mental health center setting with occasional inpatient coverage. Psychiatrists work with both adults, youths and children in an outpatient setting. The outpatient practice is primarily psychiatric assessments and medication reviews. All patients seen by the psychiatrist will already have had an outpatient assessment completed by a masters or doctoral level therapist. Outpatient physicians work in conjunction with therapists, psychologists, and social workers to oversee treatment plans and sign treatment reviews. Psychiatrists work in the outpatient clinics located in Jasper, Paoli, and Tell City, Indiana, with a typical day normally being from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is no evening on-call associated with this position.
The administrative staff routinely work in the following areas: reception, accounts receivable, accounts payable, managerial support. These positions require a high school diploma or GED. Administrative positions are located at each of the five clinical locations. The routine work hours for these positions is Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day.
