ASSESSMENT AND REFERRAL      Southern Hills Counseling Center’s mental health programs are designed to develop, support, and maximize the quality of life and functioning of those with emotional and psychiatric disorders. People can participate in any of the programs by contacting any of Southern Hills’ offices to arrange an appointment.

Southern Hills’ overall goal is to provide quality, accessible, and cost effective mental health services through a team approach and focus on the needs of and include the active participation of the consumer. Mental health treatment is always provided in the least restrictive environment possible based on the consumer’s needs and circumstances. All Southern Hills programs are also committed to helping our consumers meet their special needs, e.g., hearing impairments, blindness, physical handicaps, and others special needs situations. Staff strive to identify the special needs as defined by the consumers and to accommodate those needs.

Southern Hills’ mental health programs include Assessment and Referral Services, Crisis Intervention and Emergency Services, Outpatient Services, Residential Services Inpatient Services, Case Management Services, Substance Abuse Services, Residential Day Treatment, Children’s Programs and Employee Assistance Programs.

Southern Hills serves residents of Crawford, Dubois, Orange, Perry, and Spencer Counties and has offices in English, Jasper, Paoli, Tell City, and Rockport. Inpatient Services are provided at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Southern Hills also provides consultations at other locations throughout the five counties including correctional settings, private homes, schools, churches, hospitals, etc.
